Cuzins

Polly and Miles were born 5 days apart and Annie and I have always hoped they would be the best of friends. Here is our first sign of hope. We were trying to get them in the same picture all day, and then when I was driving, I turned around and behold the two little munchkins were holding hands. I guess they didn't want to openly display their friendship, but deep down. . .

Here's a flashback to the little chubbers last Christmas. I forgot about those cheeks!

Lighting up the square

These are a little late, but how would you know? We went to temple square to enjoy the lights one FHE a week or two ago. Macy's favorite were the ones that looked like fountains? Such as the one pictured behind Macy and me. I think it's truly supposed to look like a Christmas tree, but fountain works.

Tis the season

This countdown chain is a result of hearing this EVERY morning at breakfast: "Mom is today Christmas morning?" Me in response: "Trust me you know when it is Christmas morning." Note: Yes, Macy is wearing a one peice jumpsuit.

Macy wrote a letter to Santa. It was just so precious I had to take a picture since we mailed it to the North Pole, USA. Is there more to this address? I trust it will get there. Macy trusts me too. In case you can't quite read it here is the translation: "Santa, I want a unicorn. I have been a good girl. I will be at grandma Janet's house. Macy" AWWWWW.

Big, soft and ginger

The ladies and I baked delicious Big Soft Ginger cookies for grandma Janet. Macy and I like to bake together, but this time we let Polly join us. It was a bit more than she could handle. She wanted to taste the dough at every stage. The official count is 1,143 times she said, and I quote, "Taste?" At one point Macy started the chant "Dough, dough, dough", and Polly happily joined in, glad to have a parter in crime. I think they are on to something. Cookie dough IS pretty tasty!

Uh, oh! We ran out of mollases (pictured). Project on hold while we run to Albertsons.

Macy is practically an expert at rolling the dough in sugar, BEAUTIFUL!

Mmmmm, cookies hot from the oven. NOTE: I waited until mine was cold.

We love you, Grandma Janet. Hope you're feeling better soon!

Thanks to all

Annie and I ventured out into adult-land for Thanksgiving. We prepared (for the first time) what I like to call the heart and soul of Thanksgiving dinner. Yes to the turkey. Yes to the stuffing in the turkey. Yes to the mashed potatoes. Yes to the gravy and green beans. I must say we did a bang up job. We're so grown up.

Thanks to mom and Holly for the beautiful table. And I did not forget the delectable pies.

Thanks to all who enjoyed the meal. (Grandpa was enjoying it, maybe he didn't enjoy the camera.)

Turkey Trotters

Here you see the members of the first annual Turkey Trot. No, Holly, it is not some horrible disease generated from turkey dinner. Just a walk up the canyon on Turkey day. It may look like the first annual Turkey Trot was not well attended, and if you thought that you would be right. Turns out it was FRRRReezing cold. This is why Annie looks so crasy.

Manly man

I got (unbeknownst to me) a flat tire the other day. Do men stare at all tires of all cars as they walk by? Not at man I know would miss a flat tire. Is it just me who would walk right by a flat tire without a glance or do you laides out there stare at tires too? Not me, I say. If I'm looking toward the ground I'm staring at shoes. Other women's of course, but as of late I'm staring at my own new fabulous boots. Thanks Piperlime, I heart you. What kinds of things catch your eye, ladies?
My manly man of a husband (he makes me call him that) changed it for me and the girls were thrilled to see their manly dad in action.

Antelope? Island

We made the trip to Antelope Island (my first time seeing the Great Salt Lake, weird right?) Besides from a delightful aroma, the Great Salt Lake also offers a number of birds, ducks, and fowl of all kinds. Maybe someone can help me out, but why didn't we see any antelope? To the delight of the children, we did see some of these:

We hiked to Dooley Knob. The weather was perfect and Macy made it the whole way like a trooper. She was happy as long as she could pick a couple flowers, which is what we talked about the whole way.

Courtney and Trish: If you read this, please know that I wanted to get down the mountain by sliding down on my backside, and I planned on doing so in celebration of reuniting with the both of you, but truth be told, it was too rocky.

Jesus Christ is my brother

Macy made her debut in the primary program today. She was fabuloso. This is how it all went down. She stood up to the large pulpit looking out at a packed congregation and said those words loud and proud: "Jesus Christ is my brother", then pause, big smile and a pose for all those in attendance. She loves an audience!

Lovely ladies

Great and fabulous Jed took some picture of my pretty ladies a few weeks ago. These are two of my favorites. I'll post more when I get the rest. Thanks Jed!

Tag, I'm it!

So, Tagged I am. I'll give it a go.

The Rules
1. The player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves - try to find 6 you haven't already posted about.
2. At the end of the post, the player tags 6 people and posts their names, and then goes to their blog and leaves them a comment, letting them know they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog for the rules.

1. I wish I was musical. In any way, really. The most recent is the harmonica, but a lot of things work... Guitar, piano (I know mom, you told me so), ukelele, recorder, tamborine.

2. I have a secret celebrity crush on David Beckam. The real secret is Scott does too!

3. I love all desserts cold. ALL desserts. Cookies, cake, brownies, pie, and yes, even cobbler. I dare you to suggest one that will break my rule.

4. I hate...HATE time travel movies, they make me very uncomfortable. I was ticked when I found out half way through that Dejavu was a time travel movie. Dumbest movie ever. This one has an exception, and it is the first Back To The Future. Come on, it's a classic.

5. I am a in-the-closet Hills watcher. (Curses to TiVo) For those of you who know what the show is (and Jordan, I know you do!) then you know how embarassing that confession is. If you don't know The Hills, it's best to keep it that way.

So, it turns out I don't have many blogging friends, so 6 will be a stretch. But I tag you if your name is Andrae, Holly (come on, do it...FIREFOX), Mom (double tagged), Janet (start that blog), and Scott(he doesn't have a blog, but he desperately wants to be tagged)

Happy HOWL-oween

Macy and Polly were both puppies this year. Macy, in the form of a pink poodle named "FIFI" and she decided to name Polly's puppy persona "SPARKLE" I was required by FIFI to call her such all day. Her suggestion for Scott this morning was to dress up like the president. You know, the guy who talks into the microphone. He didn't go for it, but I thought it was a pretty good idea for a little poodle. My favorite picture of the night, I will call "Puppy love". And you can see in one of the pictures that poodles can still do ballet. (I know it might not look like ballet moves, but trust me, they are.)

The funnest thing the kids can think of lately is raking up a big pile of leaves and jumpin in it, throwing the leaves, buring themselves in the leaves, any kind of fun with leaves, really!

Pumpkin Walkers

We took the whole brood to the Pumpkinwalk. I think the biggest hit was the charachter faces. Macy is Ariel, Sosie is Cinderella and my favorite is Willa as Yoda

Willa and Hobbie

This is where we found Willa, she climbed into the kennel with Hobbe's and shut the door. She told me she was brushig Hobbe's hair. The next few posting are going to be showing everyone (mostly Holly and John) what we are all up to in Logan with 6 kids!

Pumpkins and Jackolanterns

We did some pumpkin carving for family home evening. We thought we would do it early since the rest of the month we will be in Logan with Holly's family. Macy did NOT like putting her hand in the pumpkin, it was too slimy. Scott did all her scopping for her. Then she wanted to make scary faces when we posed with the finished product.

Love

These are the times I remember that love my life and I love my kids.

Conference

We always have a great conference weekend. Full of kids, fun and pancakes. These 4 all lined themselves up on the stairs and were just hanging out together. For once my children aren't the biggest ham in the picture. Way to shine Willa!
Here's the whole fam. Let's play where's Waldo. Everyone look for the only person NOT looking at the camera! I love you Scott, but you make it so easy to tease you!
